# Introduction

Tetreum is introduced as a response to the increasing demand for blockchain networks that can deliver performance, usability, and real utility without sacrificing the core benefits of decentralized infrastructure.

The project is aimed at three broad audiences:

* Developers building dApps and smart contracts
* Users interacting with staking, governance, and on-chain applications
* Investors and ecosystem participants evaluating the network's long-term potential

The introduction frames Tetreum as a performance-oriented Layer 1 designed for speed, governance, and sustainable tokenomics.
