# Why PoA

The whitepaper argues that PoA is well suited for environments where fast block times, low latency, and operational accountability matter more than fully open validator admission.

Compared with PoW and PoS models, PoA is described as offering:

* Faster block times with finality
* Better scalability for enterprise and DeFi use cases
* Lower risk of forks
* Simpler governance and auditing

Tetreum presents PoA as the foundation for a performant and reliable blockchain environment.
