# Tetreum Architecture

Tetreum is described as a modular and performance-oriented blockchain architecture.

At a high level, the network is intended to support:

* Scalable transaction processing
* Secure state validation
* Full EVM-compatible smart contract execution

The whitepaper emphasizes that validation, staking logic, and contract execution can operate as separate concerns, which is intended to improve uptime, flexibility, and predictability.
